Dr. Kum has been a faculty member or scholar at leading research campuses after graduating with an MFA from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK, and a Ph.D. from Sungkyunkwan (SAMSUNG) University.

She is the Director of the New York-based M.I.N.D. Lab, and Associate Director of the university-based M.I.N.D. Labs international.

Dr. Kum's research and design areas include Interaction Design, Game Design, UI/UX Design, AR/VR Design, and Media system design. For example, she has designed:

Her research and designs are published and presented at SIGGRAPH, IEEE Human Robot Interaction, Euro XR, International Journal of Human Computer Interaction, Art Documents, and several other venues.

Professional Design Experience
Beyond her academic research and design, Dr. Kum has also worked as a Creative Director and UI/UX Designer at leading computer and media companies such as Samsung, LG, and others. Her design experience spans more than 15 years. Most recently, Dr. Kum was a Lead User Experience Designer at the Singapore Design Centre, HP. (Hewlett- Packard Inc.), HP's single international design center.
